Terms of Service
By downloading or using Vaulty, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.
1. The service
Vaulty is a mobile application provided by Incy, LLC that generates time-based and counter-based one-time passwords (TOTP and HOTP, per RFC 6238 and RFC 4226) on your device. The core features are free. Vaulty Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription that unlocks iCloud sync, automatic backups, widgets, the Apple Watch app, the hidden vault, and alternate app icons.
2. License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Vaulty for your own lawful purposes, subject to these terms and to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”), which is incorporated by reference. Where these terms and the Standard EULA conflict, the Standard EULA controls for App Store distribution.
3. Acceptable use
- Do not use Vaulty for any unlawful purpose.
- Do not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with the app except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by law.
- Do not use Vaulty to store or generate credentials you are not authorized to hold.
4. Your responsibility for backups
Two-factor secrets are security-critical. You are responsible for keeping backups of your accounts and for remembering your backup passwords. Vaulty provides free, encrypted manual backups and export tools for this purpose.
Backup passwords cannot be recovered. We do not have, and cannot obtain, your backup password or your 2FA secrets. If you lose them, we cannot restore your access — no exceptions.
5. Subscriptions
Vaulty Pro subscription terms, billing, auto-renewal, and cancellation are described in our Subscription Terms (EULA). Refund eligibility is described in our Refund Policy.
6. Intellectual property
Vaulty, its name, logo, and design are the property of Incy, LLC. Brand names and logos of third-party services that may appear in the app belong to their respective owners; Vaulty is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of them.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
Vaulty is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that generated codes will be accepted by any particular third-party service.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Incy, LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost access to third-party accounts, lost secrets, or lost data, arising from your use of or inability to use Vaulty. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months preceding the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
9. Termination
You may stop using Vaulty at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or terminate the license if you materially breach these terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. This does not deprive you of any mandatory consumer protections available in your place of residence.
11. Changes
We may update these terms; the current version always lives on this page. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
